Biography of Walter Washington Buchanan

Walter Washington Buchanan, born in Jersey, U.S., graduated MD from the University of Glasgow 1798.

Walter was sent to Scotland for his education and he later died at his villa in Greenock in 1861. His Memorial in Greenock cemetery reads: "In memory of Walter Washington Buchanan M.D., born at Hanover, State of Jersey, U.S., June 4, 1777. Died at Greenock, September 11, 1861. Also of his son James Campbell Buchanan, merchant, Greenock, born at New York, March 3rd, 1803, died at Greenock 10th October 1863."
