Biography of James Kirk
James Kirk joined the University in 1972 as Lecturer in Scottish History. He became Senior Lecturer in 1989 and Reader in 1990, and he was appointed to a personal professorship of Scottish History in 1999. He is currently an Honorary Professorial Research Fellow in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies.
Kirk attended Stirling High School and is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh. His publications include The University of Glasgow 1451-1577 (1977) of which he is the co-author.
