Biography of Rudolf Baranov

Rudolf Baranov was a medical student at the University of Glasgow from the summer of 1894.

He was born around 1877 at Vryheid, Transvaal Colony, present dat South Africa, son of Wolf Isaac, a merchant.

Baranov enrolled in 1894, aged 18, taking summer classes in Zoology and Chemistry. He enrolled again from 1897 to 1901 to take classes in Physiology, Anatomy, and Pathology. He was also registered at Anderson’s College of Medicine in the years 1897, and from 1899 until 1903.

Baranov returned to South Africa, where he was a medical practitioner.
