Biography of Henry Kerr

Henry Kerr matriculated at the University in 1911 to study Science, taking classes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Kerr was born in at St Mary, Jamaica, son of William Louis, a sugar planter. His brother, David, had matriculated at the University in 1903.

At the outbreak of the First World War, Kerr served with the Royal Scots as a Private in B Company of the 4th Battalion. He was killed in action at Gallipolli, Turkey, on 28 June 1915, aged 23. Private H Kerr is memoralised at the Helles Memorial.
