Biography of Alexander Renton
Alexander Renton matriculated at the University in 1835, following his brother, Henry. He was the sixth son of William, a merchant of Edinburgh.
Renton became a United Presbyterian minister at Hull, from 1847 to 1851. He resigned and worked as theological tutor in Montego Bay Academy, Jamaica. He died at Kelso, on 25 October 1863, aged 42.
