Biography of John Maxwell Taylor
John Maxwell Taylor matriculated at the University in 1786. He was the eldest son of Reverend William, a graduate of the University and Principal from 1803 until 1823.
Taylor was joined at the University in the same year by his brother Matthew Stewart Taylor, and their brothers Robert and William Leechman Taylor attended in 1789 and 1799 respectively.
Taylor became a Lieutenant in the 3rd West India Regiment, and died at Jamaica on 7 July 1796.
