Biography of Armand Voltz
Armand Voltz came to the University in 1912 and joined the Arts faculty. In his time at the University, he studied Political Economy (under Prof. W Smart), Political Philosophy., Civil Law (under Lecturer W Dunbar), Law and History (under William Sharp McKechnie), Jurisprudence (under A Mitchell), and Social Economics (under J H Jones). Voltz was born in 1981 in Strasbourg, then part of Germany. His father, Armand, was a manufacturer and came from Hesse. The family resided at Kaiser Whilhelm Strasse 17 (now 17 rue de l’empereur Guillaume) in Strasbourg.
