Biography of Shaikh Mohammad Yameen
Shaikh Mohammad Yameen graduated BSc from the University in 1925. He was born in Jullunder City in India on 4 February 1903, son of Shaik Abdur Rahman, a civil surgeon.
In 1921 Yameen arrived at the University of Glasgow to study Engineering. He took a variety of courses in his first year, including Maths, Natural Philosophy and Chemistry. In his later years of study he took courses at the Royal Technical College who specialized in subjects like Engineering and Technical Drawing.
As well as studying, Yameen took advantage of the thriving sporting community at the University of Glasgow and was Captain of the Tennis Team.
Yameen graduated BSc in Engineering on 14 November 1925.
After his studies, Yameen went back to India to work on the railways. When he retired he was the Chief Engineer of Pakistan Railways.
