Biography of McLaurin Gillies
McLaurin Gillies matriculated at the University in 1766, following his brother, Colin Gillies, who matriculated in 1762.
He was the third son of the Right Reverend John, of Glasgow.
McLaurin became a merchant in Jamaica, where he held public offices at Montego Bay. He died in there in 1778.
