Biography of Robert Haynes
Robert Haynes was born in Barbados, son of General Robert Haynes of Newcastle, Clifton Hall and Bath plantations, and sometime speaker of the House of Assembly, Barbados.
His brothers, Richard and George, also attended the University.
One time Member of Assembly, magistrate and member of the provisional committee of the Barbados General Railway, Haynes returned to the UK where he resided at Thimbleby Lodge, Yorkshire.
