Biography of Sarah Campbell McEwan

Sarah Campbell McEwan graduated MB ChB from the University in 1946.

She was born in Glasgow, Scotland around 1923, and enrolled at the University in 1941 to study Medicine. McEwan went onto a career as a medical practitioner, and served in the Royal Army Medical Corps, where she was made Lieutenant in 1951.

McEwan resumed her medical studies obtaining a diploma in Public Health from the University in 1961 with A Dissertation on Uganda: The Health of Women and Children, citing as one of her references "personal experiences in Uganda". She also obtained a Diploma from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and was the Medical Officer in Kampala, Uganda.

According to the Medical Directory, by 1966 McEwan was registered as a doctor at Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, Canada.

McEwan died near Inverness in 2002.
