Biography of Alexandrena Miller Maclennan
Alexandrena Miller Maclennan graduated MB ChB from the University in 1920 and MD in 1923. She was born at Stornoway, Canada, daughter of Reverend James McEwan.
Maclennan was 16 when she first enrolled at the University of Glasgow in 1915, one year after her sister, Caroline Jane. She graduated MB ChB in 1920, and would go on to graduate MD with Commendation on 15 October 1923 with her thesis on Cardiac arrhythmia.
In 1930, she married fellow medical practitioner James Cecil Lamont, of Ardlamont, Drumley, Leeds at a ceremony in Croydon, Surrey.
