Biography of Bohumil Betka

Bohumil Betka was born in 1914 in Prague, son of Radislav Betka, an architect.

Betka graduated from Hus Evangelical and Theology Divinity School, Prague and continued his studies abroad. After one year at Strasbourg University, he came to Glasgow in 1937 to study Theology, taking classes in New Testament and Practical Theology.

Betka returned to Pragues where he was ordained into the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren in 1938. He became Pastor of St Clements in Prague before moving to a position in Libkovice and then to Sněžném in Moravia. In 1969, Betka was granted Emeritus Seniority of Prague by ordination.
