Biography of Donald Irvine McNaughtan
Donald Irvine McNaughtan graduated MB ChB from the University in 1908. He was born at Mount Noorat, Victoria, Australia, son of Alexander, a clerk.
McNaughtan enrolled at the University of Glasgow in 1902, aged 17 to study Medicine. He won two prizes; a Commendation Certificate in the Junior Division of Clinical Surgery in the winter session 1905-1906, and a Second Class Certificate of Merit in Medical Jurisprudence and Public Health in the summer session of 1905. He graduated on 14 July 1908.
McNaughtan served during WWI, and was appointed temporary lieutenant in 1918. After the war, McNaughtan is registered as a practicing physician for Ingenio Esperanza, a sugar factory in San Pedro de Jujuy, Argentina.
