Biography of Guy Anderson Herbert
Guy Anderson Herbert enrolled at the University of Glasgow for one year in 1913 to study Engineering. He was born at Castlauarie, Melbourne, Australia, son of Frank, an engineer.
Herbert gave his hometown as Ayr, in the West of Scotland, when he enrolled in 1913, aged 18. He studied a first year course in Mechanical Engineering, stating in his matriculation slip his intention to study at Glasgow for one year as part of a BSc course at the Royal Technical College, modern day Strathclyde University. He took classes in Mathematics, Natural Philosophy, Physical Laboratory, Chemistry Laboratory, Chemistry and Surveying.
