Biography of Henry Edmund Seiler
Henry Edmund Seiler graduate MBChB from the University in 1921 and MD in 1930. He was born at Newport, Jamaica, son of his namesake, a missionary.
Seiler enrolled at the University in 1915, aged 16, to study Medicine. He graduated MBChB in 1920, and went on to gain a Diploma in Public Health from Cambridge in 1922. Seiler returned to Glasgow where he graduated MD in 1930 with a thesis entitled Clinical, radiological and pathological manifestations of intro-thoracic tumour.
Seiler became a senior deputy at the Ministry of Health in Edinburgh.
