Biography of Catherine McTavish Cousland
Catherine McTavish Cousland was born in Hong Kong in 1907, the daughter of Alexander Cousland, a merchant.
She enrolled at the University of Glasgow in September 1925 and studied English and Latin in her first session. She went on to study French, Moral Philosophy and Geography, graduating in June 1928.
By 1935, Cousland was working as a teacher and living in Glasgow.
