Biography of Benjamin Isaacs
Benjamin Isaacs graduated MBChB from the University in 1921.
He was born in Marijampole, Russia, modern day Lithuania, son of Harris, a credit draper. In 1916, Isaacs enrolled at the University of Glasgow to study Medicine. In 1921, he took summer courses in Operational and Clinical surgery, before graduating MBChB. Isaacs went on to practice in Langside, Glasgow.
Also known as Benjamin Kushel, he formally changed his surname in 1929 to Essex, while a medical practitioner in Leeds.
