Biography of Ronal Brown
Ronal Brown studied Engineering at the University of Glasgow for two years from 1908. He was born in Portugalete in the province of Biscay in 1891. He was the son of James Brown, Managing Director of Scotts Engineering and Shipbuilding Company at Greenock, where Ronal spent his childhood.
In 1908 Brown matriculated at the University to study Engineering. His classes included Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Physics Laboratory.
Upon completion of his studies, Ronal may have joined Scotts' graduate training programme, which his father had introduced, as Ronal became Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of the company in later years.
