James Towers
Biography of James Towers
James Towers (d 1820)was appointed the first Regius Professor of Midwifery at the University in 1815. The degree of CM was conferred on him in 1817.
Towers, who had worked at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, began delivering lectures in Midwifery at the University in 1790. He was succeeded after his death in 1820 by his son, John Towers.
