Biography of Mathias Felix Lowensohn

Mathias Felix Lowensohn was born in Yekaterinburg, Russia, son of Ezekheel Barnoh (or Ezekiel Barno), a medical doctor. He enrolled at the University of Glasgow in 1915 to attend a second year course in Applied Metallurgy, while taking classes at the Royal Technical College (now Strathclyde University).

While living in Glasgow, Lowensohn was also a student of the Institute of Chemistry of Great Britain and Ireland from 1915.
