Biography of Johan Henrik Emil Schück

Johan Henrik Emil Schück, the Swedish literary historian, university professor and author, was awarded an honorary LLD from the University of Glasgow in 1901.

Schück was a professor at the Lund University (1890-98), before becoming a professor at Uppsala University (1898-1920) and later Rector (1905-1918).

He was one of two notable Swedes to be recognised by the award of Doctor of Laws in the year of the University’s ninth Jubilee, the other was Seved Ribbing.
