Biography of Conrad Baenninger
Conrad Baenninger enrolled at the University in 1925 for a Junior Honours English Language course under Ritchie Girvan.
Born in Zurich, Baenninger worked as a secondary school teacher in Uster until 1923, when he became a freelance writer. Between 1933 and 1959, he worked again a teacher.
Baenninger made his literary debut in 1917 with Stille Soldaten, poems about the Swiss Border Guard Corps, which received much acclaim.
