Biography of John Fairfull Smith
John Fairfull Smith graduated MB ChB from the University in 1941. He was born in Chocaya, Bolivia, son of John, a mining engineer, and was one of three brothers to attend the University (Edward Turner and George Watt Fairfull).
After graduation, Smith practiced in Glasgow. During the Second World War, Smith joined the British Army and was posted to Kenya. After the war, he worked in Uganda for fourteen years, before returning to Scotland. He obtained the qualifications of DTM&H Ed in 1951 and DPH in 1954.
In 1974 Smith practiced as a family doctor in Minto, Canada. He died in 2013 at Fredericton, New Brunswick.
