Biography of Frédéric Centurier
Frédéric Centurier matriculated at the University in 1898 for one year to study English Literature under Professor Andrew C Bradley.
He was born in Lausanne, the capital of the canton of Vaud, Switzerland. His father Paul, a minister of the Free Church, had published his Bachelor’s thesis on the resurrection of corpses in biblical texts (Lausanne: Georges Bridel, 1870).
Frédéric graduated BA in Literature from the University of Lausanne in 1901. In 1908, he appears as the translator into French of Otto Helmut Hopfen’s "Daniel-Abraham Davel", a novel about the leader of a failed revolt against the Bernese occupation of Vaud in 1723.
