Biography of Charles Olivier Mercier

Charles Olivier Mercier was born in Ollon, a municipality in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland. The son of the Reverend Jules Mercier, he seems to have followed in his father’s footsteps, studying Theology at the University of Lausanne for four years before his matriculation at Glasgow in 1897, where he attended the English Literature class of Professor Andrew C Bradley.
