Biography of LeRoy Roderick McKenzie
LeRoy Roderick McKenzie enrolled as an Arts student at the University of Glasgow in 1919 to study Scottish History, Economics and Spanish. Eight years earlier, he had graduated BSc from the Oregon Agricultural College in Engineering and Commerce.
LeRoy was born in the small town of Summerville, Union County, Oregon in December, 1889 to Scottish couple Mary and Roderick McKenzie, who had married in the US in 1894.
After serving in the Union County Defense during the First World War, McKenzie later came to Glasgow, where he enrolled in a single summer term in 1919-1920. He returned to Oregon, where he died in 1933 at the age of forty-three.
