Biography of John Ignatius Shirley

John Ignatius Shirley was born in Mexico, son of James, superintendent of the Mexican Railroad.

He matriculated at the University in 1904, taking classes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Physics Laboratory.

Shirley went on to patent an elastic fluid motor on 17 May 1910 in the US, while at the University Club of Mexico.
