Biography of Walter Ogilvie MacFeat

Ogilvie Macfeat graduated MBChB from the University in 1933. He was born in Quilpué, Chile, son of Walter, a director of a fruit exporting business.

Macfeat enrolled at the University in 1928 to study Medicine. He was awarded several prizes throughout his studies, including first class certificates in Gynaecology, for which he was also a medalist (1932), and Medical Paediatrics (1932).

After graduation, Macfeat obtained a Diploma in Medical Radiology at the University of London in 1938, and became a Radiologist. He worked at St George's Hospital in London, and served as a Major in the Royal Army Medical Corps during the War. Ogilvie became member of the British Institute of Radiology.
