Biography of Alexander Crosbie Turner
Alexander Crosbie Turner was born in Apia, Upolu, son of the medical missionary George Alexander Turner, and grandson of missionary George Turner. Turner first enrolled at the University in 1890 for one year to study Arts, taking a course in Logic. He enrolled again from 1892-95 to study Law, taking classes in Scots Law, Conveyancing and Mercantile Law.
Turner appears to have entered into business thereafter with William Oliver Clazy, establishing the law firm Clazy & Turner on Bath Street, Glasgow.
Tuner was also a member of the council and honorary secretary for the Glasgow branch of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society, and in 1909 received Honorary Fellowship of the Society.
