Biography of Juan José Rafael Montealegre Rohrmoser
Matriculated in 1920 as John Montealgre, Juan José Rafael Montealegre Rohrmoser was born in San José, Costa Rica, son of Juan José Montealgre Gallegos, a farmer, and member of Costa Rica's most powerful coffee families.
Montealegre enrolled at the University in 1920 to study Science, attending classes in Natural Philosophy, Mathematics, Chemistry, Engineering, Drawing and Survey.
He returned to Costa Rica, where he was founding partner of the Costa Rica Country Club.
