Biography of Yee Yung Liu
Yee Yung Liu graduated with a Bachelors of Science (BSc) on 8 November 1919. He was born in Nganking, Anhiu, son of W.Y. Liu, a Professor (for political affairs).
Liu first matriculated in 1911-12, aged 23, after previously having attended the University of Anhui. He joined the Faculty of Science and signed up for classes and advanced classes in Mathematics, Natural Philosophy (Physics), Engineering, Engineering laboratory and drawing, Electrical Engineering, and Constitutional Law (part of the Faculty of Arts).
Liu was the first president of the Sino-Scottish Student Society which was set up in 1913 to encourage friendly relations between Chinese and Scottish students, and to help promote good relations between both countries.
