Biography of Ching Lin Hsia

Hsia graduated with a Bachelors of Science (BSc) on 23 June 1920. He was born in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, the son of Kiu An, a silk merchant.

Hsia first matriculated in session 1916-17, aged 20, joining the Faculty of Arts & Science. During his fours years he signed up for classes in Mathematics, Natural Philosophy (Physics), Chemistry, Geology, and Inorganic Chemistry.He also obtained an MA from the University of Edinburgh.
