Biography of Eric John Dyke
Eric John Dyke graduated MB ChB from the University in 1905.
He was born at Morija, in modern day Lesotho, son of missionary, Reverend Robert Henry Dyke. Dyke was one of four brothers to attend the University.
Upon graduation he served as honorary physician in the Western Infirmary. In 1910 he took over as medical officer of Butha Buthe from his brother, Hamilton. Dyke enlisted with the Royal Medical Corps and served in France during the First World War. After the War, Dyke returned to Butha Buthe and served as District Surgeon of Basutoland until his retirement in 1960.
