Biography of Stuart Reid
Professor Stuart Reid holds the Chair of Veterinary Informatics and Epidemiology. He was Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine from 2005 to 2010. He became Head of the School of Veterinary Medicine on 1 August 2010 when the School became part of the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences.
He was presented with the Petplan Charitable Trust Scientific Award 2010 for his outstanding contribution to companion animal veterinary science at a ceremony in Birmingham Town Hall on April 8. This is an annual competitive award and individuals are nominated by a member of the Scientific Committee of the Petplan Charitable Trust. The nominations are then assessed by the Scientific Committee, with outside assessors as necessary, and a recommendation made.
Professor Reid has over 130 publications and is Chair of the Donkey Sanctuary Trustees and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
