Biography of Henry James Morrison Cousens

Henry James Morrison Cousens graduated BSc from the University in 1901. He was born in Poona, modern day Pune, India, son of Henry Cousens, Superintendent of the Archaeological Survey of Western India.

Upon graduation, Cousens returned to India where he joined the Indian Service of Engineers of the Public Works Department. By 1935 he had been promoted to Superintendent Engineer at Pune. Cousens retired to the UK in 1938, serving during the Second World War in the Home Guard (1939-45).
