Biography of Andrew Todd

Andrew Todd was born in 1844 and he was the son of an agricultural labourer. He was a student of the University of Glasgow and graduated MA in 1870, studying subjects such as Latin, Greek, Physics and Mathematics.

Todd attended the Crookham Presbyterian School and in 1861 became a Pupil Teacher at the young age of thirteen. After becoming a Mathematics Master at Amersham College Oxfordshire, he later moved to New Zealand in 1874 were he became a government surveyor. It was in Zealand where he met and married Blanche Jones.

In 1883, Todd and his family immigrated to America with the dream of trying farming, they later settled in Hubbard Oregon were Todd died in a farming accident in 1908.
