Biography of John William Semple
John William Semple graduated MA from the University in 1822, becoming an Advocate at Edinburgh.
He was the son of a Glasgow merchant, Matthew Semple.
Semple translated Immanuel Kant's The Metaphysic of Ethics, published in 1836. He died at Castries, St Lucia on 17 September 1842.
