Biography of Herbert Charles Sadler

Herbert Charles Sadler graduated BSc from the University of Glasgow in 1893, and DSc (in absentia) on 22 April 1902. He worked as an assistant to Professor of Naval Architecture, John Biles, from 1896 to 1900.

While a student at Glasgow, Sadler served as President of the Engineering Society from 1896 to 1898.

He was later appointed Professor of Naval Architecture at the University of Michigan, USA, and was awarded an hononary LLD by the University of Glasgow in 1927.
