Biography of Honoria Somerville Keer
Honoria Somerville Keer (1883-1969) was a University graduate who served with distinction as an Assistant Medical Officer in France, Serbia and Macedonia during the First World War, and as a Lady Medical Officer in Nigeria during the 1920s and 1930s.
Born in Toronto, Keer studied medicine at the University from 1903 until 1910, graduating MB ChB in 1910, and was registered as a medical practitioner by the Scottish Branch of the General Medical Council in 1910. Her distinguished career is described in the Roll of Honour of the First World War.
