Biography of Thomas Jarvis
Thomas Jarvis graduated MA from the University in 1741.
He was born in Antigua, eldest son of his namesake, a merchant and owner of Popeshead sugarcane plantation, which Thomas went on to inherit on his father's death. His brother William also attended the University.
Jarvis returned to Antigua where he worked for the government. He later served as President of the Council of Antigua and became Chief Justice of the Court. He died in Antigua on 18 December 1785, aged 63.
