Biography of Theophilus Eastman
Theophilius Eastman was a student at the University of Glasgow and he graduated with a BA in 1815.
He was born in the parish of Portsea, Portsmouth in Hampshire. His father, Thomas Eastman was possibly a craftsman.
In 1813 Theophilius Eastman matriculated at the University. He was a good student winning a number of prizes including one for overall good work, another for Junior Mathematics, and finally a prize (as voted for by other students) for distinguished eminence in class and for his various high quality essays.
After graduating Eastman went on to become a Congregational Minister in London. He died in 1863, aged 74.
