Biography of George Allan McCaskie
George Allan McCaskie attended Hillhead High School from 1920 to 1933, and then went to Glasgow University where he graduated MA with first-class honours in 1937. George entered the Administrative Branch of the Malaysian Civil Service. He was then attached to the Indian Army with the rank of Captain. He is believed to have been in Hong Kong when it fell, and to have escaped to the mainland of China. George McCaskie contracted typhoid fever and died in September 1942.
