Biography of John Tebay Howie

Electrical Sub-Lieutenant John Tebay Howie was born in London and matriculated to study Engineering at the University in 1938. He joined the Royal Navy in 1941 and served aboard the frigate HMS Bullen.

Howie was one of seventy-one members of the crew of HMS Bullen who were killed on 6 December 1944 when the ship was torpedoed by a German U-Boat off Strathy Point in Scotland.
