Notebooks of Alexander MacCallum Scott: personalities and travel, Baltic States. Vol.3 (Jun.8-Jun.28): detailing travels through Russia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland; comments on Russian trade, pedlars and street sweepers in Russia, the Kremlin, Jews, and Vilna, from 1924.

The diary details Alexander MacCallum Scott's (Liberal MP for Bridgeton, Glasgow and ex PPS to Winston Churchill) journey through Russia and the Baltic. A quote from the diary about Riga, Latvia, reads:

It was built by the merchants of the great northern trading fraternity of the Hanseatic League, who knew how to hold men own sword in hand (sic) against kings, emperors & feudal barons ...."(19/6/24)
