Biography of Lincoln Kuo

Lincoln Kuo was born in Tang Yang Hsien, Hupeh, China. His father’s name was Hung Zien, whose occupation was that of school master.

Lincoln Kuo first matriculated at the University of Glasgow in 1922 aged 25 having previously studied Mechanical Engineering in Peking Technical College. He took classes in subjects such as Mathematics, Natural Philosophy, Physical Laboratory and Naval Architecture and Drawing. Kuo graduated BSc in Engineering (Naval Architecture) on 21 April 1925.

After graduating Kuo returned to China to be in charge of MaWei Ship Building, Fujian,for a short period of time. He later moved to Wuhan University in Hubei Province and helped to set up the Engineering Department.
